History
Shânti was created in 2002 by Eric Mookherjee to advise a Luxembourg based SICAV compartment.
Shânti was approved by the AMF (Autorité des Marchés Financiers) in October 2003.
In 2005, Shânti developped a research partnership with the Indian company Iden Investment Advisors and opened Shânti India.
In 2005, BNP PAM (BNP Paribas Asset Management) took a 10% stake in Shânti Asset Management; the management team still holds the majority.
In March 2006, the company, as well as the fund Shânti India, were registered by the Indian market regulator, the Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
In December 2008, in the middle of the financial crisis, Shânti started a long/short equity fund: Shânti Europa.
The following month, in January 2009, Shânti started a fund of hedge fund: Shânti Mosaic.
